What's left?

by Debra (DM) Kraft — Read all 67 poems by Debra (DM) Kraft

what's next what's left and what's even right anymore?

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

What's left?

needing
to be everything
everyone needs
for me to be and me
slipping into selfish
self preservation
staring at the blink
of a cursor cursing
my blank mind
my brain numb
from confronting
and already running
in dreams scheming
to retreat to escape
to find another place
another time
another state
of being and
pleading
what's next
what's left and
what's even right
anymore?

Been in that state many times in my youth. Now I don't ask that question I just have to wait till I get up the energy for the task. It's a good way you explain those moments when the body is in survival mode just before break down. LadyJ

it is tough to feel this way--your opening lines say it all--we dance so fast we are exhausted
