Above all else, to thine own self be true !

THE SHATTERED MIRROR

A reflection of myself―
giving back my thoughts, my dreams.
An image I could not see.
You took my hand
and looked with me.
Explaining, defining, making real
all that was hidden
beyond my sight.
I looked anew and saw
that which you said existed,
what was us, what was you.
Nothing of me was left.
I believed.
And then a thousand wounds
inflicted by your hands,
filled the outline of my soul.
Fractured truth,
tears reflected again and again,
image without end.
Fear of losing
what had never been,
now shattered, gone.
I slowly turned away,
left the broken dream
and looked instead within.
Found something of my own,
quietly taking possession.
At peace, with me.

Two sides of you? From all aspects, you seem to be very healthy and happy with your life. So, you are either a very good author who can see into the other side from experiencing others' pain, or you really have experienced both sides of life.

Omega Factor by John Henning

Take some time to walk outside of your own mind and into another, walk slowly and carefully; the mind that you step on might be your own.
