Addie Williams at this time in May of 1982 had written 500 poems. And to think there is more. None of her poems were read until 2003, but I think this poem relays that she hoped they would be.
I have written
500 poems.
Anyone who does that
Naturally has had something
To say.
And I have said it -
Clearly, I hope.
If not, then dearly
Though obscurely -
But from my heart
And some frolicsome facet
Of my soul.
The words are there
To merely lie
Or perchance to say
Something near the mark
Of true .
The verdict
Lies with you
Though I
Believe all
I've said
That you have read.
I submit
To the conclusion
Of you
For therein is
The confirmation
Of my own affirmation.
