In days of latter years
One thinks primarily in terms of
"Was" and "will not be again."
The present is for thinking
Of life's most
And death's piracy
Of beauty
Of gems and gold, silver and jade
Bought with tears and laughter and Hopes and fears,
That will not rust or fade
When night draws the shade.
