I'm a fish
With only
Reminiscent fins
And tail. -
Slick, slippery -
Foreign to pure air,
Alien to dry ground.
Give me water
Pure and clear,
Coves and caves
To
Hide in.
Currents of a thousand seas
To live in.
Give me fluid space
Limped beauty
Moist, melting wet -
And unmet
Damp desire.
Make me immune
To the rampart fire
That evaporates
My tears,
Anomaly of my being.
I cannot swim, Not I,
In drops and drips
Of cosmic dew.
Give me life
Untempered by desert's dry.
