Beauty glows ethereally over me,
Whenever my eye finds station.
Electric sensation
Shocks to aesthetic elation
Throughout the all of me
Whenever I'm free of apathy.
I saw it all begin
Back then, in isolation
From the bland, banal oblation
To the busy occupation
Or of the world - midst leaves
Of verdant, breathing trees
Where my time was spent
At ease - As I pleased.
Lonely then I thought I was
And thought itself became my refuge.
Only now when old and gray
I see the round of yesterday
In the convolution
Of my heart's evolution.
