What matters
The means of the end?
The end is what matters.
Or is it pain?
Pain that tortures
Every cell and nerve
And every desire
And every thread of being.
Are we all mere victims,
Prey of malfeasance,
Sacrificed to insouciance?
Rebellion, fire me
To join your rank -
To defy indifference
Of life to stone.
Record here and now
My will yet to decide
My ability to guide -
If not my destiny in life
Then my choice in death.
