My generation dies
Before my eyes
While I wait my turn -
Ready, undismayed,
But careful lest I waste my sight
Lest I waste my time
Lest I be caught unawares.
All days and nights become

Prime memory's fasting
Urging all I've ever lived
To register once more
And hold my hand -
Lest I forget or ignore
The store of each experience
That has at last brought me
To this shore
Where there beckons
Another world and time.
