At the mercy
Of controversy
I submit myself
To the suspicion of opinions
That I'm depraved.

My mind ranges
The wilds of strange terrain
And has heard the refrain
Of the song of the universe.

My mind is free -
I oversee
The world of fantasy
Express its voice
And hold its choice
Within the chalice
From which I drink
And reel.

Pearls of life
Are the residue
Of my point-of-view,
From the length of years
And volume of tears
I have know and wept.

I reach conclusions
More poignant
Than still born life
And death bourn youth,
The whole is in the fraction
Of every item of life's transaction
With human dynamite.

Within the chalice

As long as we are chained to our bodies, we have to ask ourselves these elemental questions? What is the purpose of it all? Faith and religion are just steps in that ladder. I rather submit myself and leave the tower of knowledge alone. I hope my angst was not to heavy

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
