Which is more important,
To love or be loved?
Either leads to tears.

And what of reciprocity?
A veil shrouding fears
Of blatant truth.

One must twice be born
Say both secular
And ecclesiastic seers.
Yet, needless to say, physical birth
Is first -
The next is suspect
For rebirth to what?
To love
Psychologists' and Jesus say.

And here am I,
And here are we
Born to perplexity
Born to wonder
Why our identity
Lies confounded,
Mired in lack redundancies.

Why can life not import
A worthy thought - a neutral heart
That merely knows and is?
