Was just having a quick look at my backlist and saw this quiet-looking "Ebb And Flow"... decided it needed retitling with a bit more "oomph" or "vavavoom"... or something?! LOL Kate xx

PASSION'S THROBBING SWELL

Moment by moment
the hours pass
in heartbeats
dictated only by the
rhyme and rhythm
of love

Time being measured
by space between
the peaks and troughs
of love's experience

Closeness that is
not physical
but spiritual
Not spatial
but special
Not evident
but inwardly
apparent

Love's ebb and flow:
Time and space
caught up together
like shoreline shingle
gathered and taken
by pounding surf
and kissed
by jealous foam...

* * * *

Love is a beach
of sand and sea
which does not exist
apart from
the two
coming together

I am the sand
You are the sea
Love is the face
of the moon,
our gravitational pull

The existence
where we hold
each other's entirety
suspendedly animate

* * * *

Love's life
is ebb and flow:

It is rhythm
Balance
Counterbalance
Tension...

Ask not for
endless flood
but equally
inhabit the
gentle eddy
which kindles
by degrees
the gathering
energies of
the next
tidal wave

From one who has mastered the intrigues of life and love and mishaps, to the rest of us here withoug a clue, I thank you for all of them. (They wouldn't admit it.)

Kate - if you understand what someone feels on the inside about you -
something that for one reason or another may never be voiced - you know about love is and the telltale signs that someone loves you. Love often is like mine and never has a rhyme or reason. Often it is discordnt and does not fit ones lifestale; but it runs deeper than
and ocean, rises higher than any mountain, and is greater than any force in the world. Silence comes from ones lips, for they feel it is necessary to hide what's inside. Go gently into the night sweet princess, remembering that time and circumstance or so important in love and life. Hugs xx Bill

A tidal wave when these two meet Kate!
I love the imagery and hidden thoughts and images that float neath the verses..... Beautiful poetry and moments hidden here in your poem....

I've learned to fear those tidal waves, and I've moved out of the eddy and into a cabin in the mountains.

Kate, this one is timeless. found this particularly striking:

Extremely captivating write, Kate; and I was immediately caught up in its graceful Ebb and Flow. Wonderful!
