E J Scovell 1907-1999 : "Love's Immaturity"

"Those even we love most
We sleep within their lives like cats and rove
Out into the night, and late return and coast
Their souls like furniture..."

THE HAUNTING

I do not think about you
but you are never out of my thoughts;
And is my existence
only that in so far as
you think about me?
Were you to die, would I still live?
Would your life have meaning
without me?

Funny thing is,
I feel I barely know you;
Funny thing is,
I know myself
even less

Together, though,
we are
possessed

Dear Kate,

"The Haunting" is haunting and complex indeed. But honest questions and self examination, do your hearts belong to each other, or to someone else ? Very profound write Kate.

Warm hugs

Ok... this is stuff to gush over, Kate! I felt senses that have nothing to do with reading getting involved... I could FEEL this piece, could hear it slip into me. To say it's inspired and special would only suggest categorizing it.. and this stands by itself, unique, magnetic. I'm saving this for another time, a bunch of other times. I love this poem! It's the sort of writing that lingers. katy xox.

Possession can be a good thing - if the right soul possesses your heart and mind.

PS I love that quote.

Kate, you most definitely have created an absorbing timeless write. There are so many people, places and things that run throughout my mind on a constant basis, I don’t even have the time to know myself…lol! You have such a brilliant mind, and what ever it is you are sipping please send two crates, C.O.D. of course, or better yet make it available through the gift shop…lol! You’re an outstanding Poet, and we are lucky to have your priceless masterpieces posted on the board! I enjoy reading your work. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and talent. May the gentle winds of the Creator’s grace always comfort and guide you and yours throughout your journey through time and space, my friend. Peace always.

Kate,
I know this feeling I have this with one and even at times I know I'm never away or far yet never seen or been and yet they have a powerfuly hold that keeps me in the knowing that it is.,.... And for me this is fine. Wouldnt have it any other way for it is to real. This one is haunting as many of those relationships are... Excellent.... Not even a thought passes hes there..

Oooooh...Kate...I like this very, very much!
That last line says it all, but I would not have
you eliminate the preceding ones for all the world,
as they lead up beautifully to the 'punch.'
