Home is not a place but a state of being... This is an expansion of an old idea that was formerly presented as "Confession". I guess the starting point of my premise for the addition is that, although we perhaps long in life to hear the words "I'm yours!", we cannot fully enter into a depth of relationship with someone until we fully know and understand who we ourselves are... "Mine" in this context is positional and not possessional. K xx
LOST AND FOUND
You can watch me, observe me
listen to and search me
Analyse, bleed, biopsy, cut me
Test, distil, freeze or melt me
And you won't ever know me
or uncover the source of my life -
Who I am...
But you sure do know
how to make me
feel inwardly naked,
outwardly exposed
Always vulnerable
"Home is not a place but a state of being..." Bless you for this thought, and for sharing it. It gives meaning to your poem's conclusion. I like what you write, and the way you write.
It really is a nice warm cozy feeling when one hears those words. I did truly enjoy the oneness of two in these lines.
Well done Kate.

Great additions to the orginal write. It changes the tone in a very intense kind of way. Great descriptions!

Kate,
I went back and read "Confession" also. I like the addition that you added to make it "Lost And Found." Reflective write of how empty and lost one can feel until someone special comes along to re-ignite the heart and soul! It is sometimes easier to find oneself when someone is there to help! Thanks for sharing this gem!
