...Have to confess that the only thing that has changed on this one is the title!! Formerly "Symbiosis" K xx
SUNLESS PLACE
I hear sounds of the seas
in the shells of my ears
See the shine of the moon
in my eyes
Taste the sweet of the hive
on the bud of my lips
- but the pain of your heart
in my sighs
Treading each dawn so lightly
with feet that are fleet
I hasten to every fresh start
But even whilst running
I'm just so aware
my soles bleed
on the shards of your heart
Outwardly bright
but inwardly dim
I seem two persons
merged into one:
The me that I know
appears all aglow -
the other's
a place without sun
Wow dear lady, superb, I truly enjoyed this, though sad ! Gosh, were you reading my thoughts ? I too seem to be like the person described in your last stanza. But tell me, who really enjoys such feelings ? who needs these emotions ? Ah, but to be free of these, a pleasure to the soul. Well done Kate, another one of your gems.

Much too often we strive to show an outward appearance of happiness, when in reality we're hurting. I was very touched by this poem. Glad you didn't change it.
