Hold me lovingly, like a book:
flat open in the palms of your hands,
so that you can feel the bones of my spine.
Scan my face for traces of hidden meaning
concealed amidst the text of your favourite poem.
Run your fingers, phrase by phrase,
from head to toe through each and every word,
missing nothing.
Press me breathless to your heart
and let me be the unseen object that exists everywhere
in the centre of your gaze,
and the thought that lingers long.
Let me be your inspiration for yet another
sunlit day,
for I am nothing if left unopened.

Kate, your romantic poetry continues to bring tremendous relief for ones soul, my friend. This creative piece has all the right ingredients to allow one to sift through the awful predicaments of life. It helps to know that with the right partner there isn’t any emotions or thoughts left unopened. Thank you for sharing your work. Take good care and be well.
This is all I asked of my love. This is all he could not give. Cold and vrutal but alas! there is this poem and the fact that love can come again. I'll wait. Thanks for your poem Kate. There is hope for someone like me.
