Everything monochrome,
silver and shadow;

sharp as a pin drop.

Knife-edge feelings,
frissons of pleasure:
exhilaration of bathing and booze.
Surreal otherness of
well-loved people and place -
Wandas in Wonderland,
transformed, fish-scaley
and glassy-eyed:

The magic of Tom's Midnight Garden,
right there in Windsor Great Park...


The moonbeams have long
been shattered by
daylight's piercing rays.

But the magic remains
to quicken those dark waters -
