GETTIN OFF ON ECSTASY

Mouth waters, pupils dilate,
breath hardens, womb's engorged.

Feasting on mind-altering fruit:

Poetry

Taste that is luscious, energising,
causing streams of juice to flow...

Reading of Eliot and his Vivien,
Fatal Attraction
of high-minded to the vulgar;
marriage of conservative and pioneer;
gravitas and fancy.

Their union a magnetic field,
auras irresistibly drawn
from deep invisible sources.

La Passion de la Poesie

She was his incarnate provocation,
their nexus an entirety,
world complete.

"One sees it in the way he looks at her"

Poetry is Narcissa:
the only one to satisfy
the desire that she creates.

Kate,

I got off the Ecstasy...and I wanna go back!!!!! LOL Oh, I'm sorry--the title got me thinking of the cruise--that was the name of my ship, the M/S Ecstasy LOL

This one left me shivering in anticipation of more pleasures, more words to come--BRAVA!!!!!!!!! Never lay down your pen. :)

The mind is the womb of creativity and the pen the birth canal. Poetry arouses the senses and can create the same excitement as subtle sexual expressions. To be creative, is reaffirming and our poetry is certainly the fruit of our creativity. Wonderful poetry, Kate!
Take care,
Sherry

Very fine, Kate. A union so complete, that they both experience climax at the same moment...

Dearest Kate,
As you've seen, I have been inactive on AD for a while but when I come back, I always check out the work of one of my favourite poets. I see that you've posted a few poems in my absence and this means I'm going to have a wonderful time reading with my cold fingers wrapped around a cup of tea. I can think of no better way to spend an evening. You inspire me so much with your poetry.
When I first read the title of this poem I thought you had written about ecstasy the drug. Nevertheless poetic expression is a drug in of itself. You've captured this in mind blowing form. WOW!!!
Take care precious soul
