SEEING TOMORROW TODAY

We are grains in the sands
of all life and time,
hesitant cursors on a screen,
mere blips in the pulse of eternity.

I am not you and you are not me:
differing in length of days and global space
our tomorrows hold separate meaning.

But we all can hope for the sun to rise:
to dream it, expect it and wait for it
diminishes the stranglehold of darkness
and evaporates the night.

Yet to witness it appearing
depends on where and when we stand -
and the direction of our gaze.

It all about perception
you have done well at descibing the contrasts
sort of like a black and white photo and when one crosses into the other you are left with a gray area

So true my sweet Kate we all have different dreams but are given the same heart to love with, the same soul to become spititual with and the same body to age with, but lets not forget the beauty around us as you suggest. very sweet write here my dear friend.

Can I be a pebble on the beach, sand gets in my toes. Can I huh huh huh? We see tomorrow in 60 mins, the yankies in 5-8 hrs. Therefore we can tell them about tomorrow today! Einstien eat yer heart out..

nomatter how rich one is, we all have 60 mins, to spend each hour, and it's up to one how one spends them.

PS Nice poem.

Your philosophical write points towards the light at the end of the tunnel which we all strive to reach and break out of the darkness that held us captive. But to reach this light one has to keep moving and not stand still and be mired in the darkness of inactivity. You have exercised the grey matter with this splendid write.

We have to be open to it's light don't we? The "stranglehold of darkness" will overtake us if allowed. Our minds create our world. Certainly a beaut, Kate!
