Another Spanish write, but I thought you could maybe do with a break from the monotony of endless blue skies and vast, windswept beaches - yes?! :)) K xx

PRESS RESET

When loose, soft tendrils of hair,
fallen from a pinned coil,
grace the nape
of a woman’s bowed head

and inspire tenderness;

when the red, chafed spot
on a man’s shaved neck

incites passion;

when the sun-bleached hairs
on a child’s bronzed,
washboard stomach

stir a giggling feel-good;

that’s when I know
our default nature
is set for love,

and frail flesh not built for war.

A fabulous work, Kate. Only nit that I may have is ragarding line breaks (as if leaving a footnote at the end of each strophe), but then other side of the coin will say "excellent use of shock therapy"...You are scaling new heights with every write!

only the imagery supercedes the inner spirit of this poem ... it captures the mood and texture of man's innate charm and nature and clarifies his true form ...

This write is nothing short of amazing, Kate. Your images so vivid that I could reach out and gently brush that sun bleached hair on that rock-hard six-pack stomach...oh um excuse me, I was drifting there... You did a wonderful job on this, it is the duality of we humans that is so unsettling. When we realize how deeply we love and how powerfully we war, it seems an enigma.
Take care,
Sherry

If we could live by practising such priciples.
Instead of all the recent trauma and pain.

It's amazing to me how this "Spanish" experience has done so much for you and how it is doing so much for us, your readers, Kate. It's a learning experience. Ironically or coincidentally, my ex and one of my daughters are in Spain right now and, as you did, obviously enjoying the experience. Thank you once again for sharing. Love and peace to you. Regis

Another marvelous poem, Kate, and I wish all humans could concentrate on the default nature you describe, and not the other one.

Kate,

Excellent, provocative, sage words. :) Dynamically written and illustrated by the master imager, herself!

Now, who's tired of windswept beaches and endless blue skies? NOT ME!!!!!!!!!!! Bring 'em on! LOL

((((HUGS)))) and love, Karla. :)

Visions of A Skylark Dressed in Black by Aberjhani

“The woman or man who is a poet, or fiction writer, or playwright, or all of these, is engaged constantly in a jazz ballet of vocabularies, passions, genders, histories, perspectives, death, love, and life. The music of revelation announces itself to
