Wrote this as my "nod" to Halloween, I guess, and was about to lift the Scovell quote from The Haunting from August last year... then I thought: "Hang on a minute! That will do as well!" Quick, eh?! :))

SPIRIT AWAY

Funny thing is,
I feel I barely know you;

This is another brilliant poem on existential agonies, with a lot of passion and thought. Last poem, you should check your enjambment decisions once again. Another thought, do you need so many stanza breaks. I think each of them should have single stanza, organically. In the first poem, the enjambment between second strophe and last line is an achilles heel. You should also keep a control on "to be" verbs.

As to the quote ... I believe it is a call to all of us to awake to the miracles and blessings all around us.
For the poem "Spirit Away" ... I believe it is a call to Oneness.
As far as the final poem is concerned ... from reading your previous works, I believe you already know the answers to those questions.
Positively amazing, Kate. Intensity that gave me goosebumps and also challenged my beliefs. What/who are we when the one with whom we are melded ceases to exist or at least ceases to exist as we know them? A most frightening thought that leaves the soul empty of response. Fantastic write!!!!
