Some whimsical rhyme to start/stop my week... and I'm off to catch up on a bit of shut-eye! :)) xx

SERENITY

Curling foetal in a bubble
Counterbalanced in a breath

Woven through fine feather’s tendrils
Keeping skeletal leaf from death

Reflecting moonshine of a baby’s eyes
Absorbing rays from dolphin smile

Sleeping sandy in an hourglass
Measuring deep space by the mile

"Rest In Peace" is not for the dead –
it’s power that makes us alive:
the energy that uplifts to the crest of a spring
before knowing the thrill of high-dive

I did not sleep a wink last night. Perhaps I can use your verses as a way to drift off in this "space" that you have created and shared. Thank you for this gift, Kate. Love and peace to you.

This is strange on my part, but I didn't read this as a rhyme. I saw the comments and then read it again. Beautiful, tranquil, relaxing poem, Kate. Yes, do take care of yourself. xxxooo Janet

Your beautiful poem shows you are still in the healing process with feathers, dolphins, babies and death analogies. Rest well Kate and let your mind heal along with your body! Serenity is a necessity.

Eileen

Yes we need those moments and times of the rest in peace that sleep allows. Sleep well our English poet and come back refreshed.

A delectable treat this is, Kate. I felt as though I was in that transitional stage between sleep and awake, drifting off to all of the beautiful places that grace my dreams yet still aware of the physical aspects of all that surrounds me. Sweet dreams, you have certainly set yourself up for golden slumbers.
Take care,
Sherry

Oh Sweet Kate this one soothes and relaxes me as I savour each line...so many peaceful relaxing images you call to mind and you are so right. WE need to deal with adversity and the strifes of life in order to truly appreciate the beauty of serinity, the calm of a good sleep and the love that is all around us waiting to be tapped. You and I are kindred spirits I think when it comes to that.
