This has been knocking about in my Poetry Bag for a bit - inspired by reviews of and Sage's Liquid Sculpture write back along... Peeps seemed to have images of Venus conjured, whereas for me, with the mention of the diving white V-neck and the descriptions evoked, the personage that came to mind was Diana!... But then, I just read Nordette's review as I revisited just now, and that embraced ALL of what it means to be SHE!! :)) Have a good week, folks. Not sure when I'll be back, but I'll try... LOL Kate xx :))
DIANA
Never one for pop-idols or princes,
fame or fortune,
your mystique passed me by
until you passed away;
then I knew you –
intimately:
a deep association,
understanding who you were
and why you could not survive.
Nodding as they pulled the feather weight
of your gun carriage hearse,
I was the black plumes on dark horses’ heads,
the muffles on their marching hooves,
the bleeding rose carpet beneath their feet;
my anguish your tolling bell.
Marilyn and Madonna,
commonplace and king;
huntress and hunted,
candle and the wind;
angel, “whore”,
sun/moon,
night and day:
Country girl turned princess,
your veiled eyes and liquid smile
a light in this shaded world;
your unisex spiritual and carnal energy
hallowed in one body and soul…
I knew you –
the crying smile and naked stare:
a beacon for those with sight to decipher
their brilliant code: the message
of who it was who brought you down –
and the reasons why.
A fascinating exceptional write Kate! I felt like your first stanza and what Nordette said is true for me, too. I'm not impressed with royalty,or stardom. Yet when I heard the news I sobbed like it was personal, and was glued to the TV watching the unbelievable funeral saga,wondering why I felt as I did. As with all celebrity mystery deaths,one wonders if we will ever truly know the truth of who did it and why. Always such murky speculation. Like with the JFK assassination etc.
This is really something Kate!
I sense the power of the princess
here and she must have been so
well loved. I don't know too much
about her so...you've captured the
love the people had for her.

I was Westminster on the day of her funeral.
The atmosphere is beyond discription. Burly lorry drivers in floods of tears..
There is a classified signal that goes off to certain peeps when suspicious deaths of such profile happen. GUESS WHAT!!
A stunning acclamation to the fairy tale of our times Kate, a powerful mystique emenates from this piece, and we all know not all fairy tales have happy endings. Like the woman this is beautiful.
This is the best tribute I've ever read about Diana. The way you select your words seems effortless. I was never interested or impressed by Diana until I found out about the good she did around the world. Take Care, Kate. xxxoooo Janet
A beautiful tribute to a special person, Kate. My feelings about her are similar to yours. I paid more attention after her death. Somehow I'd connected to her subconsciously because the night of her death I was up working at home. I heard the news and began to sob as though a relative had died. And I felt this intense anger at the people behind the death. I didn't understand why it hit me like that because I had not followed her life or read the tabloids. There was definitely something special about Diana. Strong poem, Kate. Thank you for the reference to my long-winded commentary on Sage's poem. :-) ~~Nordette
Beautiful. A Cinderella Story without the Prince Charming and the Happy Ending. The World was her Prince and she its Princess. My prayers are with you and yours.
She captured the imagination of millions of people with her shy smile and the bore she married. I am sure you are a comfort to your mother in her dying days and I hope and pray that you will stay well.
Oh sweet Kate, once again you have made the windows of time clearer for me. I too had litte or no understanding of why all the fuss was made about Princess Dianna but now reading this poem through your eyes and your perceptions I tend to remember and pause to think of the things she was, not what the press made of her. You are right she was to me what British women epitomize, ladylike characters with just a touch of the she devil, mother like women who though often prim and proper can cry at the sight of a wilted rose, delicate in appearance but strong of character and resolve and mostly an amused sense of humour that keeps everything in perspective. If I were asked to pick someone who would remind me of her I honestly would think of you my dear friend.Great write Kate, I hope your mum is coming along and that you are truly taking care of yourself.
Hugs,
Pop
I hope all goes well so you will be able to return soon, Kate. This poem reminds me very much of Marilyn Monroe, the story is not really all that different, except for the names and a few details. Both powerful women, with the ability to bring Presidents and Kings to their knees. A legend cannot live forever but in their death, they insure that the memory of the legend will. Excellent write, Kate, I will keep you and your Mum in prayer.
Take care,
Sherry

Kate, you have sculptured an insightful query into the nature of a true princess and the mysterious circumstances behind her demise ... indeed, a shaded world that extinguishes a flame of hope and sincerity ...
You've given us a very insightful profile of a woman who in the hearts of many is still princess of Wales. Your last stanza was chilling. Good to read you again.
On a page that was previously present on the web (no longer now anymore..., guess why...): http://jya.com/mi6-list.htm the following was stated:
Professor Pritchard of Gonville and Cauis College Cambridge is the leading recruiter for MI6 agents. He identifies and recruits the most intellectual geniuses for MI6.
The following three people are members of MI6, an organisation which forms this supposed great country's intelligence service. It manipulates the ordinary people of this country who are unaware of its illegal activities.
Sir David Spedding--Head of MI6--was ordered to organise the murder of Diana, Princess of Wales and her friend Dodi Al Fayed.
Richard David Spearman--Chief of staff for Sir David Spedding. He was given an assignment and moved to Paris two weeks prior to the murder of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Al Fayed.
Nicholas John Andrew Langman--Principal assistant to Richard Spearman. He was also involved with Spedding in the murder.
Richard Billing Dearlove--the incoming Head of MI6 in September 1999--was in Paris two weeks before the Aug. 31, 1997 crash.
The attached list identifies the unprincipled and unscrupulous individuals involved with MI6 worldwide. The list was produced by an honest man who has since left MI6 because he felt that the behaviour of that organisation was unacceptable in a civilised society. They are accountable to nobody for their law breaking activities. They are subordinated to the elite people of this country, for example the Royal household and the establishment.
The whole world should be aware of these individuals and their capabilities. British citizens need to know that these people are supported by those ruling this country. This "Al Capone" style organisation has removed the human rights of ordinary people, not only in this country but worldwide.
Then the message is continued with a list of 116 names of men and women who fit the intellectual genius description of individuals MI6 is looking for.
Spot on! Diana was not only a Princess of England, she embraced the world with her humble, noble spirit. She was EveryPrincess, and her loss left a huge hole in my heart when she died, needlessly, tragically.
A stunning peek into what it must have been like to be her...thank you.
(((((HUGS))))) and hope to see you soon, love, Karla. *continued prayers*
Kate, I'm too much of an American to say any word except, BINGO!
You have so ably captured my feelings for that little Miss which have been held close to my heart, lo, these manyy moons. How you enter another's pschye so deeply, I'll never understand, but you do it, and very well. Bless you for this one. I wish it could be printed in the Times or floated on the hames, or sumrwhere that a runt of a King-to-Be would see it, and know himself for what he is! I believe you're going to push some of the English Masters off the scoreboard - soon! - Bill
Powerful voice here, Kate. The Princess with a higher mentality. Beautiful, powerful women behold such grace and elegance and when added with intelligent quotient and sexual prowess, there is a stalking force to hunt down and take out this one, as she seems to always belong to another so undeserving, one who slips someone other than her the backdoor. It is extremely hard to be in the spotlight and celebrity's status quo. Admirer's want to know the inner secrets, the deep cleavage intimacy that runs below the navel, and the fans want the heroine at arm's length. The cleavage in my poem Liquid Sculpture is baring it for my woman, I am calling out to her, in a Wiccan ritual Drawing Down the Moon. I wonder how she would appear to me in a white ballroom gown with a low neckline. I am a lady's lady, a voyeur of cleavage. There have been so many different takes on Liquid Sculpture and I love them all. I am taken aback by your interest in the Liquid Sculpture poem to mold your own Diana. Princess, Goddess, Moon, we honor her and nod our head in sigh, the beauty of knowing her, Kate. Love to you and Mum. Come back soon. I so appreciate you, you know.
A very powerful exposition of the mystique and allurement that surrounded and still does the late Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, and a pointer to the suspicious circumstances pertaining to her untimely and tragic premature death.

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
