AT REST

You want to be laid to rest
with the remains of your new born
cradled in your arms;

to publish articles in the local press
that testify to your innocence;

to not have teenage girls
call you “whore”,
or the spittle of boys
running down your back;

to be free of neighbours
whose curtains twitch
and of police who are tapping your phone.

Mother, dying in peace will be easy
after 88 years of this living in pain.

Kate, with but a few words, you can convey such power, such endurance, such will.

It is terribly difficult to watch someone we love, slip away a day at a time. Never knowing where or who they will be tomorrow, all we can do is love them and understand that no matter how frustrating and difficult it is for us, that is must be many times worse for them. Painful and sad. Keep your chin up, Kate.
Take care,
Sherry

powerful emotions, Kate ... keep strong ... it's not easy experiencing a parent's reason fading, that's why you must work harder at keeping yours for both of you ...

Raw emotion spoken here, Kate. Life's retractions are few and far between. Upon a dying wish, a retraction of those who said it and did left up to a daughter to set it right. That's heavy.

Oh Sweet Kate, I had to read this one several times and still the aching pain was there without an easy answer to offer. Sometimes the answer does lie in death if only for the fact that it offers a final reward and a final escape of what should have been a better life in this world. Your mother like mine no doubt lived and breathed in a life that saw a lot of upheaval and pain, I do know she had one thing that she was truly blessed with and that was having a loving and kind daughter like you, she did a great job of you.....

'Tere are some of us who cannot imagine such pressing cruelty from humans being inflicted on others. Remember the gentle and sweet lady who gave you life, and be sure that you give her and you, well founded hope. Also, know that we love you. - Bill

To endure such pain from heartless people is a sad commentary. May she rest in Christs' arms when He calls her home where she wiill know peace and love for all eternity.

Horrific. Sounds like one wanting to erase the past. Yet the cross has done that.
Paranoia from unwarranted feelings of guilt..

Stay strong babe. Gods way is the only way...
My shoulder is always here!

My Mum survived for seventy four years on this planet, and she endured and suffered, and most of all remained faithful to the Sacred Heart of Jesus !
This is a bittersweet analysis of life that cuts to the bone Kate !
Remain resilient and resourceful in the Lord !
Blessings
Peter
