VINTAGE
Paint me spring -
brightness bursting
in moistened droplets
through tender pores
of fresh-exposed skin.
Sketch me summer -
downy flaxen fields
smoothly rippled
by bronzing breaths
of emotional breeze.
Gouache me fleshy and heavy
in autumn,
mellow laden harvest
swelling lips and hips.
Stain me with the
bitter hues of winter,
all of me bared
and pared back to brittle bone,
dust and ash for seed and roots.
For you vision my entirety
and fashion my life
by the strokes of your hand;
As always your poetry is alive with light and colour sweet Kate and I love it, ironic I also just did a seasonal poem as a duet with one of the other great ladies on here and she should be posting soon. Yes it is great when spring truly arrives and as i saw the first porple and yellow crocuses poke through got me going as well. Hugs.
Hello Thomas Hardy;-) as soon as I read this I thought 'Tess', the country imagey is very esq...if you get my drift. Another superb piece Kate, love the metaphor by the way.
Superb artistic write. I know you're an artist. Who else would know what gouache meant? Me? I build up with Gesso then gouahe for more of a fluid element..in prose your words are a masters'.

This has a profound spiritual and metaphorical feel about it, high on visuals and color which paints a hopeful and inspiring prognosis of the future...
Good to see you getting back into your natural rhythm and style, Kate !

The opening line just explodes joy off the page; the seasons color your moods; an excellently penned, imaged piece. One of my new favorites from you--definately saving.
Wheeeeee! Seasons do turn you on ! ! ! Your pen steamed a real write in these lines. I won't be brash enough to say things like, "My pleasure!" Naaaaa, that wouldn't be the thing to say to a lady like you. Cheers, ole girl ! - Bill
