You are my tiny brittle bones
woven into snow shoes
in which to tread the virgin fields
of sleep;
my skin and veins your feathers
whose filaments filter draughts –
warm currents lifting body and soul to rest.
The weight of my thoughts
are your small stones –
significant finds, lasting fruit
of another prospecting day.
Yielding to you I defy gravity;
you impart to me the secret of flight
and I become dream wings.

Wow! I am glad that I did not miss this one........caught it from the side of my eye and had to check it out :-) Your writing is moving in great directions.
Kate....this was the perfect way to cone home from a trip...just as delicate as the wind weaving those dreams caught in the circumference of feathers and beads.

Having just returned home from a miniature holiday, I am ready to take a nap and could not have asked for a lovlier poem to drift off thinking about...this is, again, simply lovely, Kate.

Dreamcatchers are given to perfect sleep and gaurd against the evil in dreams. Your poem is honorable to the meaning of dreamcatcher. Mariah was given a dreamcatcher from Sparrow, a Cherokee princess who had a medicine man create it to help her when she was having nightmares and panic attacks after a terrible wreck. It's magic worked for her when her psychologist and thousands of dollars wouldn't .Thanks for delivering the ultimate magic of the Dreamcatcher in words so deep it's descriptuve.

Our dreams are our carnival of the soul, I believe. We are able to go places we can never to to back in the reality of our hum-drum, sometimes dreay lives. Even those with exciting lives need their own dreams and dreamcatchers to flirt with and make them more than they really are.

You've done it again. A book I'm reading is defying gravity, by Mcgough....
Dreamcatchers are truly beautiful artworks of native american indians in both Canada and the United States and your lines and words captured the beauty of these delightful sybols and true part of the history of these people. I have always had a dreamcatcher hanging from my cottage window and your poem sent wonderful memories of wakint in the morning with the sun shining through them and dancing on the room's walls. Thanks for awakening old but not completely forgotten memories sweet Kate.
