Sorry to be so absent, but I am on the run like you would not believe!! :)) Both the sales on my Mum's house and my seaside one are completing at just about the same time, so I am living between packing cases atdemo... I will be away for the whole of October come this Thursday, so will endeavour to set up dodgy online connection sur la plage where I'm goin just as soon as I can... until then, communication will have to be via telepathy... speakin of which, my Muse has been somewhat cold shouldered of late (... I know... she will make me pay!! :)))... but this odd one I just woke up with a few mornings ago... Goodness only knows where it came from.

Be well, People, and ciao for now... LOL K xx :))

TEMPLE

The stone of my soft-bodied ancestors

Place where a small black dog weaving
between matted legs of inconnus disappears
into the night with a message from the gods

A fire for burning sweet flesh of doves
and a well that strengthens bone

Windows tattooing peace and walls that seethe salvation,
resounding pleas for mercy and the hammering of nails
through hearts of impenitence

Word-whispered honey soothing curses of bile

Sacred ground making scattered parts whole

This is kind of a mixed bag, Kate, the soothing feel of knowing where our ancestors lie and the eerie feeling of ghosts that assault our psyche. I felt as though I was in a cold, damp darkness as I read this and I could see the foggy mist rising from the ground and the see the misty forms of ghosts rising from the ground. Wonderful and image rich, this is excellent writing. I am so glad you got your new home on the beach..though you will be missed here, that is fantastic news.
Take care,
Sherry

in light of your moving between dual points of reference, it appears the temple offers a sense of solace while in the midst of turmoil ... maintain the journey with spiritual fortitude and conceptual grace and then begin to write again ;)

I believe I've been at home here before. It is life that gives us doses of this pen whenever we least expect it. Everyday is exciting and a new birth.

I wish you beauty and love in your move and afterward, when you are settled.I wish you beauty and love with exciting adventures to take in and pen for all of us here waiting to see through your eyes again.

Love,
Susan.

Temple is so good for this poem I found this one healing, so healing.
"Windows tattooing peace and walls that seethe salvation,
resounding pleas for mercy and the hammering of nails
through hearts of impenitence"
These lines I will never forget..... Love ya Kate!!!!!! You have not grown cold.... :)

Ah sweet Kate, can picture you in black gothic look reciting this in graveyard with a lantern held high under a hallowed moon. Gives me chills or perhaps thrills at the thought. LOL

Sounds like a trip to hell and back, but how could it be? Not from my sweet and soon to be gone for awhile, Kate. Do settle in to your new surroundings and come back refreshed to our den. You will be missed dear English lass.

I will pray for the successful conclusion of both important sales, and your peace of mind...;-)

YIKES KB!

What an existential and surreal mix of images. You put me on a teeter-totter of juxtapose with the first line. I like that!

You certainly must be describing a Catholic Church with: "Windows tattooing peace and walls that seethe salvation,
resounding pleas for mercy and the hammering of nails
through hearts of impenitence"

This was like a good Sherlock Holmes mystery.

Well done, and all the best in your move.
