... Don't ask... I have NOOOOOOOOO idea... it's just been one of those days... K xx

THE GREAT BEYOND

的知 breaking through
I知 bending spoons
I知 keeping flowers in full bloom
I知 looking for answers from
The Great Beyond

R.E.M.

Sweep of sky痴 a beach,
bleached palimpsest
rinsed by shoaling sands of cloud
and brush strokes of stars
washed up like fish.

Ever-changing hieroglyphs of heaven,
omens of sign and symbol,
templates cut from darkness
making decoupage of time,

slicing paper-thin creases of moment
which, tumbling like windblown leaves,
tilt towards fresh vellum of future.

There痴 an astronomy in each
bouquet of flowers and earth痴 surface
is a constellation of bulls, rams,
hunters and bears.

But I don稚 know why
I keep a feather in my back pocket,
expecting my ass to fly.

Oh, Kate!!!!!!! This is glorious hope in darkness; and that last line...I've had those days, too. Well done!

on my ass either LOL...Great piece Kate, I liked

The feather can sure tickle your ass if you can't fly, you've got it all written down in ancient animal skin and I hope there's an ankh template symbol and a scarab cut out of Egyptian hieroglyphics to rid the imposters. The Great Beyond to a sage wears like a cartouche, Kate...

I call it a rhapsody of hope sung by the soul of the narrator out in open boundless fields of imagination and spirit where one's ass truly can fly, and fly, and fly, and fly. So there's my shilling's worth: may that feather rise and go to it:-)

I love it Kate. It has the stirrings of all thoughts driftin in and out of the mind on a day that is made for flittering thoughts and deep ideas.

perhaps you keep a feather in your back pocket to remind there is a time for flying and a time to nest ... great imagery ... luv the irony ....

Ha Ha Ha I didn't expect that wind blown ending but it sure fit in with the thoughts you were expounding on. Great longings expressed with such beautiful metaphors; now if I only had some tea leaves for you to read.

You two?? I keep a feather and a dalmation stone with me all the time. We poets rely on the spirits all around us to keep our words aflight.
I'm glad my own ass isn't the only one with HIGH expectations. You go girl! I love the wit here.

Okay, Master Kidder in Poetry! I thought it was a compititor to William the Shakespeare, and seeing te ending so well composed, I must say you're giving him a run for the heavens. I enjoyed this.
