... Just tryin to get the stopper out the bottle here... Feelin poetically all at sea... K xx

DAMASCUS BEACH

Sea winds are mercurial, animated
in delight at this high-tide squall of light.

Shimmering through shallows, my frailty
is no match for such verbosity of elements;
drowning me speechless, my breath is all taken.

I can barely stand within this epiphanic instant;
light, wind and waves are too volatile
to ever question my thoughts
or investigate my flimsy presence.

White horses crash their galloped exclamations,
slap sands into frills of scalloped shapes;
their rippling backs unravelling rainbows
round spindled conch of mist.

I am blinded by this light invading
tideline’s littered treasury –
fool’s gold of iron bladderwrack,
fresh coins of minted shells.

Its webbing soon festoons my eyes
and my silvered skin turns scaly.

I loved the metaphor of seashells as being " fresh coins of minted shells". Natures riches that are free for the asking. Great poem

Dear Kate,

Damascus is the capital of Syria, right? As much as I love the sea, beach or no beach, wouldn't want to be there.

Love & Light always and in all ways,

A truly sumptuous exultation of a moment like a briliant starpoint of light shining wonders of revelation, resignation, and divine humanity. A special gift from a special pen. Much gratitude,

I guess it is when I am in the Mountains KB, or on a precipice overlooking the ocean, or most always when I am standing on one of the rims of the Grand Canyon, or even reading an ity bity cute little button-nosed British Poets thoughts, that I feel so bloody miniscule in light of Gods creation.

I figure that for an artist, or writer, or anyone for that matter who has the wisdom, that feeling miniscule is part of His glorious plan to keep us looking up and reaching out.

BTW ... the cork hit me in the eye! (-:
