I am supposed to be concentrating on writing Garden Poetry at the moment... this seems to be the closest I can get, though! LOL K xx

DEAR RABBIT

Many years have passed, dear Sir,
and I have long since given up diving
down rabbit holes and drowning in
crowded pools of my own tears.

But I wanted to tell you how much
you continue to invade the mysterious
quotidian of my pleasured domesticity
and dominate the wanderings of my
treasured thoughts.

You won’t know me:
I am now just another child grown old.
And you were, at the time, deeply
preoccupied, staring right through me
or mistaking me for somebody else.

But I’d like you to know that I followed
your lead and that it was you who walked
me through the Doors of Perception
just like Jim Morrison so many
years’ later.

I also confess that it’s me who
has your gloves. They barely fit over
the tips of three fingers but I keep them
wrapped in the Duchesses long knitted
scarf and sleep with them under my
pillow at night.

Dear Rabbit, I hope that one day, too,
my daughter will find you. You will,
I’m sure, think her a comfort and
soothing to your frayed nerves
and ears and whiskers. Unlike me,
she has both feet planted firmly
on the ground and her name is
MaryAnn.

Gosh KB ... this one almost got by me. One thing I've noticed in the last year about your talent - your work is very multi-faceted and palatable. No less so in this great write that conjured of course Alice in Wonderland, but also for me I was reminded, too, of C.S. Lewis and his Narnia series. I hope all is well with thee ... Blessings dear heart.

Looking glass and rabbit hole reminiscences of a cleverly personal and endearing nature, Kate. Garden's can be an inspiration to the muse every now and then, bet even our Alice egos need an occassional diversion and a memory jog if we are to get the path straight in translation to our daughters. Simply a delight!

Taylor

"Alice In Wonderland" my how you have fired my imagination. Yet I still see you bounding past chasing that rabbit; as he searches for the time which never really passes because dreams never end.

M a r v e l o u s ~!!!! The white wabbit and I are more than well-acquainted. Have been since I was too little to reach that bottle that Alice drank from. Fortunately, I have what my mother insisted was "too much imagination." I, too, grew tall, then shrank, then grew tall again. Got caught up in that crazy caucus and went mad with the Mad Hatter. We have much to thank that bunny for, don't we. Got even more to thank YOU for now I've been down this path with you. Sure do thankee!! Dreamin On <3

My my, how I've missed my fav Lady Poet, wonderful sentiment here Mizz P. I've followed a few of these guys usually into the underworld oooeerr; one even lent me a copy of Aldous Huxleys 'Doors of Perception' He told me Jim Morrison had also read it but I was so gobsmacked at meeting a talking Rabbit it really rather threw me out of sync...anyway I'm going on; needless to say, I'm stuck tripping my way through the underworld looking for a Rabbit with a watch LOl.

Good to be Back

Kate,

This will linger for a long while after having been read: wonder. Regret. Remorse. And a dash--just a dash--of humor to make it REAL. This one is beautifully penned, you've outbested yourself, me (((friend))). Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

The truth is that I haven't been there in years; had to scrape far down in mrmeoory for much of your meaning. Thanks to yours, I'm incurable, and can't wait to dig all of it out, and check in with my "Biddies," to see its influence on them. You have stirred the magic rabbit hole, my dear. Thanks. - Bill

Ah, Kate, the wonderland of Mr. Lewis Carrol aka Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, on that summer day of 1862. Dear Rabbit steps out of a Victorian England of high-walled gardens, sitting atop the benchmark of children's literature...everything's got a moral, if you can find it...a tree can bark, it says, boughwough...after our adventures, wouldn't we all love to awaken in a meadow of diversity with a hookah-smoking caterpillar...pass the pipe dream, Kate...your prolific mind produces learned works as Carrol's did...Euclid and His Modern Rivals, The Hunting of the Snark, Phantasmagoria and the Other Poems, Sylvie and Bruno...yes, let's send a heroine down a rabbit-hole...without knowing what will happen to her afterwards...be well, Kate...Earl Grey and carrots to ya...
