Ahh... the moon... THE MOON!!! Have you SEEN it tonight? 'Tis beautiful... at least, from where I'm sitting... :)) K xx
HARVEST MOON
I wait for you to devour me whole,
watching as you approach,
stealing up my papered walls
and bleaching the maiden blush
of full-blown roses sighing in a bowl.
Slowly you siphon the oceanic blues
from heavily-draped damask.
You creep up the blind side
of my consciousness and
I go under feet first,
your mellow beam baiting
my drowsiness.
On its strong persuasion
I break my fast of sleep.
All night long you rock me
in the cradle of your sickle
as I lie pillowed on your
harvest sacks of light.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....Kate....I have been away far too long...and did not know how much I missed of your poetic genius!
This poem in particular caught my eye as I am in the midst of doing a wall mural, in oil, with a glowing full moon in it, reflected in the water. How marvelously you create images in words!!!
Yes...of course...when my 'project' is ready to photograph I will share it on A.D.
Love,
XOXOXOXOX
I've been feeling the moon lately! and it's deep tirads of clusters forming, in the mind also1

Enjoy the moon, I wrote #3 poems myself, it reels my soul and spirit!every time! as our poets always feel it!
Full Moon Harvest, reminds me even of Neil Young!
This is a treasure! I will savor!
T e r r i f i c ! I have scads of moon-inspired poems, but few, if any, are as imaginative. L o v e the moon, L o v e you for lovin' it. . .and creating this ode to its charms. Ability to hypnotize~!

The moon - the MOON! I like this write - the melody at the start
I wait for you to devour me whole,
watching as you approach,
stealing up my papered walls
and bleaching the maiden blush
of full-blown roses sighing in a bowl.
and your last line, i agree with Sage, i thought the same - introduces the masculine aspect - and so to a harvest, and one drawn of sensuality, the moon sure is persuasive, 'creeping up the blindside' - she certainly does my head in regularly!
Nice one - a balanced poem i reckon - bio-rhythmical and tres cool Kate-san - well done - Nicky xx oh - and your review on 'Japanese...' re 'detox' - spot on spooky!!
lovely Kate...i to adore the moon in all its phases...it's been looming full here in Colorado, teasing at my senses...seems its lulled your pen with its tidal pull
sounds testicular to me...it would be sacs,though...LOL! Hope that sickle isn't too close to those harvest sacks of light...reap away, dear Kate...yes, the moon has been so beautiful...she really puts us in touch...
I looked in vain for this moon but clouds obscured. still, reading this again and again was a close second to the real thing, Kate. writing here is passionate and alive. Dawn
Oh my this is incredibly beautiful Kate, so mellow, so passionate and just-right!!

Sweetest Kate,
The "Harvest Moon" has yet to arrive (in Sept. or Oct, I believe). But your poem has brought it to us early! Oh yes, Alexandra and I drank to the full its passion one eve before the full moon, on the 28th when summer breezes blew warm upon our skin.
Have you seen our moon tonight? It's tremendous, magnificent and mesmerising. I can see why lovers are more enamored under a moon such as this one. I'm in. I am a romantic fool.
Neil Young called one of his best know albums after a Harvest Moon and I do find it both soothing and relaxing, though I have not seen the moon for last few days because of rain and clouds your words sweet Kate project it into my mind with startling clarity as your word paintings always do. Having buried by friend this weekend I needed this kind solitude to help me relax and I thank you for this.

And, now, you're Moonstruck! It becomes you, fair maiden. Better watch this moon.... appears to be more male than suspected.
Your work in recent postings shows an imaginative brevity that will get you nowhere... except to the top of the heap!! We're cheering... over here... and baying at your moon! Love it, Miss Talent of England. - Best, - Bill
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
