You rated this PG? By the time I had read it twice, I was weak - and aching for dangerous curves. Thanks for the ride.
A strong poem Kate - one where the speaker is in the driving seat - in England, where we drive on the left, and sit RIGHT - the passenger can hug the cliff if they want but the speaker is in control here - i don't think a crazy driver going round the bend at all! Good driver Kate! Dunno why, puts me in mind of two strange offers i had in a week when i was a 'youngster' - a branch of the police force asked me if i would like to train to drive for them, and the local mafia asked me if i would do a easy money driving 'job' for them! Decisions decisions! No to both. Keep on trucking Kate - you rock! Nicky xx
I love your approach to this. My frustration lies in the fact that the rules of the road keep changing. It's hard to arrive at your intended destination when someone keeps throwing the map out the window. Maybe I should stop worrying about the destination and just concentrate on finding a good car with a great set of airbags.
(hehe)
Ahhh sweet Kate, I can see quite clearly that although your big heart is warm, and your spirit is cudly, you may just have a wee bit of the Irish temper in you and as you say it would be wise to be able to read the warning signs. I would much rather hug that rump than slip off the precipice. As always your work is often sublime with tongue in cheek but always interesting and stimulating...love it and love you dear Kate.
