Becoming She - Inspired by Kimmy :)

This is a strange train of thought inspired yesterday by one of Kimmy's most beautiful lines... I have wrestled with it, but I think it has beaten me! Kimmy, I don't know whether to say "thank you" or "sorry"! :))

BECOMING SHE

“she has a love of beginnings and an understanding of cradles”
Kimmy Van Kooten, Making Love to a Masterpiece

She stands within shadows
of the empty nursery,
pondering pale moons sweeping
through fringes of rushes
and dark waters gurgling
their night-time hush.

Setting the crib in motion
with just the tip of an index finger,
she remembers being inside
its rising, falling space and
staring from beneath the translucent,
ridged canopy, pink and thin
like intercostal skin.

The ribs of rockers take her back
to the time of an unknown birth.
She runs cupped palms along
their mahogany rails
as if unsheathing a blade.

A bloodied scent of nakedness
unearths her old beginnings;
on her unpitted belly there’s no mark
of a knot to link her with the Tree:

Never conceived, she was formed complete;
without innocence, unblemished.
Naïve.

Oh WOW!...Kate...I am speechless. I remember reading once, in a magazine, a question...it asked, "Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons?" That came to my mind at the end here...and I still contemplate that mystery...? but...

I also see the effects of original sin here, severing the intention of perfection...His perfection!
My poem, brought you from the act of creation, through the process of actual birth, you have rocked the baby here...And I'm not talking about just any baby!
This is not only a joy to read, but an honor to cherish! I thank you and I am so glad I could inspire this masterpiece in you!
"Becoming She"...ya just never know, Jesus just might return, as his other half...a woman. What a great movie, to contemplate His Second Coming!
Love and Peace~

Kimmy is a rare force with words and images KB, and you have used her inspiration delectably - your words raining from the spirit onto the canvas in pure drops. Never rest your quill!
Blessings and Love ...

birth is indeed the force of momentum, innocent as it may be, searching for direction ...

Dear Kate,

While reading this poem, I envision the mother's womb as a cradle, rocking gently to a lullaby.

Love & Light always and in all ways,

Before I get to the end of so many of your penns, I get lost by thinking. Blimey this is stunning, and need to reread oftentimes.
Somehow this leaves me thinking of Ophelia.
