I have no idea why, but this little prose piece makes me feel all Christmassy... :)) xx
ABOUT FACE
She was pale like the moon, shy and discreet. Her life a predictable pattern – ordained, beautiful. And quiet. But he blazed like the sun; all women basked in the heat of his burning attention. No-one could predict his moves, only await the sudden fire of his rays.
Funny though, they always met in the between-times of grey: daybreak and dusk. Working in the same city tower block, somehow, in the glint of the foyer’s revolving doors, daily their paths collided in a flashing whorl of low-slant light. Here they carouselled in a flying wheel of windows, a glazed vortex between worlds.
Once, time suspended and night and day exchanged. Always aware of his eyes upon her, she ignored his gaze until the day the doors ran slow, then slower still, until finally they stopped. Turning, she placed her palm against his through the flat of the separating glass. She raised her eyes and her lips moved:
A little change of format for you Dear Kate and I like it tremendously. The girls slow look at love from the protection of the glass seems so real or perhaps sureal and then when time stands still and that protective barrier is still suspending time and space between them she offers herself to him...now the answer aways the restart of the revolving door...

Made me think of an ugly duckling who should not have been at the point in time that she was, but she was so that is that. Now what is she going to do, nobody wants her because she is an ugly duckling, she even quacks when she talks and waddles when she walks. But from somewhere in the room there was a glow from this guy, who was dog ugly too, but since they were both dogs they decided to get hung up together. You write effective too . . .
MY kind of fantasy. This is magnificent. Move over Hallmark Channel this one will win an award. Keep it going Kate. Make a movie here/ a screenplay!

Susan
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
