Ahhh... a little Sunday afternoon whimsy, owing much to Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 and many apologies to U2! :)) K xx

HURRICANE GRACE

You know her as
The Dancer,
aware only of her
sinuous moves,
her diaphanous form,
never resting;
bridging the world
in the poised arc of her soul,
taking the strain,
carrying the pain;
disarming the poisoned tongue:
no malice in her chalice;
no bone is broken
by her lips.
The world heals through
rotating curves of her hips;
she slips through chains
and rusted bars,
calls them liars.

Hers the name
of the ship,
the figurehead
at the prow,
the Now;
the colours nailed
to the mast
with no avast –
for, should her
breath be stilled,
there’ll be no torchlight
left to row by.

This is the essence of the spirit of a woman who has no fear of standing her ground. She will experience the moment by embracing the storms hidden direction, weaving a color that brightens the darkest hour. In the spirit of adventure this online book is one of my favorites.

Susan is right, Fee does love this and approves heartily of your descriptive song of the lady of the sea. I have sailed as crew on at least five full size ships and a few smaller boats and vessels and I would never refer to one as anything but a she. There are a whole set of reasons why a ship is referred to as such and I used to have them but like a man they are lost somewhere in the missing files. All that being said you did capture a lot of those reasons in this lovely write and it is a true treasure to read and enjoy. Love ya HMC Kate

Kate, Torch means fire in yank lingo.
Healing words...
-disarming the poisoned tongue:
no malice in her chalice;
no bone is broken
by her lips. <---- Your words in life are like that to all your mates, spec the disarming crystal voice that goes wiv the words...

I won't quote it was on the good ship Venus, by gawd you should've seen us.............Kierra Kate, and once only a deKade of love...OH NO, it would be DecKmate Kate and JacK n his loaded pistol packing mama, shivering yer timbers, turning yer world upside down...

Arc of her soul, lol saw Joan of Ark last night, nice frippit she was too...

An enchanting poem/pome by one Klipper Klassey Kate....
