I had to smile when I read Debby's review, as I had the same image come to mind when I read the final stanza of your poem. Each stanza was a work of art in and of itself, with a distinct message...yet a complete message when put together as a whole.
Loved the opening lines...and the eternal flame... and the illumination from within. All in all a superb poem.
We feel the passion of the poet in each breath of a line that this poem offers up. Ahhh sweet Kate once again you captured my mind and my soul with your warmth and textures that flow from your mind to ours. Well done

When I read this "One candlestick two faces, keeping watch throughout long hours of the night" I had this image i'd seen from an optical illusion of a black candlestick, and on either side facing each other, where white face profiles...funny how the mind paints those images that way...anyway deep perspective expression with the less than subtle hints of sensuality :) very smooth Ms. Kate.
