... though it COULD be! Another strange one, born(e) on the mysterious El Levante of the Moroccan-infused wind-and-light-swept coastal terrains of Andalucia, then swirled through the volcanic-dust-laden clouds of Northern Europe. Anyways, I'm back safe and sound with its whispers still ringing in my ears! :)) Costa de la Luz is very popular with hip surfer-dudes-and-dudesses and there they take to bathing in mud pools - whether in the spirit of Old Woodstock or as sun protection/health/cleansing measures, I'm not quite sure! Enjoyed immensely! :)) xx

PALABRAS DE PUNTA PALOMA

The many-breasted s/he god will
fashion you from molten earth
with white feather of her breath

and no longer are you A-dam,
his emotions pent, but will burst
forth from your dappled banks
on fresh tides of visionary thought,

driven by her ravenous winds,
bearing the pulse of the fecund light
that emanates from the living stone
on which your soft-clay form is set.

I like the way you write A-dam, so the he/she remains throughout. I can see the mud-pocked forms rising from the steaming pools, and then bursting forth from the dried crusts newer, cleaner, and somehow brighter.

I actually wrote something much like this a few years back. I'll have to dig it up so you can take a peek-see. I get the same emotion reading this, as I tried to express in my write, though not half so well.

Volcano's dust clogged the bong
Woodstock improv saved the song
Young man Hendrix never knew
Soft clay guitar strings would never do

Enjoyed. Patrick

I can feel the mind of the poet that travels and feels the fresh breath and vision, again ready for creation. This is what I feel when reading your poem Kate.

it is rewarding to read this work of yours Kate -- a flight, volcanic ash and soft clay, the surf dudes(dudesses) retreat of high esteem and your imagination -- send the spirit on a marvelous journey, a flight of fact and fancy -- may peace and love be always with you my dear friend -- Jon Michael

Seems like the vacation hasn't hurt your ability to create new illusions in your poetry, painted from events both past and present.

What a place to connect to your inner goddess! I think that as a poet, Kate, this land is where many pottered inspirations come from, mud and water fired from the volcano gods and goddesses leaving their fiery stories in Iceland's sky drifting across earth's vast ether...surfers have the best laid-back lifestyle...it's all about freedom and water and movement...a lot of those surfers are the world's greatest artists, dancers, gymnists, writers, and singers...Bob Dylan in tie-dyes hangin' ten at Woodstock's mud pit singin' Blowin' in the Wind...

Love,
Sage
