un hommage

a simple twist of

fate…

lone spark’s

tingle that’s still

bone-felt

rings those star-crossed

dance around amid

castor and pollux’s

echoing laughter

molecular quark in

the cosmic afternoon

of sudden lovers

corkscrew navel

swallowing

white rabbit

whole

within whose breath

an unfurling of wings

is always to blame

Fated or no, "a simple twist" bears the corona of abstraction with teasing delight. Prestidigitation is an ally of consensual deception. Thus the white rabbit never existed and the unfurled wings were afternoon illusions ushered in through the portal of human desire. This is a tasty morsel filled with an infinite number of flavors and aromas. You have permitted each of us to select our personal favorite as the correct interpretation. Clever and executed with laser like precision my dear friend. I am now refreshed having read and inhaling deeply the essence. I bid you love and peace. Jon Michael

The way this begins makes me think it could have gone another way. That's the essence of fate:)

I am listening to White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane...One pilll makes you larger and one makes you small, Go Ask Alice when she's 10`tall, You go chasing rabbits and you know where to go...An you just had some kind of mushroom, Mind is moving low, go ask Alice, I think she'll know and logic and proportions ...Remember what the door mouse said Feed Your Head.
Powerful song of our youth, powerful words of the present time, you have done an amazing job making me feel this song...

Much Peace, love and light,
Amber
(I of course cut out parts but all will get the jist)

A very special interpretation of the
twists, Kate, you push into dimensions
most can't go into or fathom; we are all lost
and found at the same time and you have
emerged from the rabbit hole unscathed
and yet marked with greatness..

I agree with Gina that "molecular quark in the cosmic afternoon" is
a great line, among many. Don't know how I feel about a simple twist
of fate, but Kate I do know that I like a simple twist of lemon in
my scotch. I also know I like how you write. -gene.

This is a very brilliant, thought-provoking write.
Certainly there are people who don't believe in fate because they believe in one's own ability to control their destiny, and yet it would seem that fate is a concept thousands of years old and I have felt it myself so many times, and so...there must be something to it?!
Hmmm...what do you think Kate? I'm just such a freaking romantic!!!

Christine

Ah the Greeks have a word for it but I couldn't find it. If those mythical brothers can laugh why can't I? You leave my mind numb, and without an interpretation for this quizzical poetry.

Sorry, Gianette, but I'm more into "castor and pollux’s / echoing laughter."

The white rabbit trick is a crowd pleaser also.

One word . . . Fate . . . Can, when put inside Kat's blender of a mind can become so much more interesting than originally it was.

"molecular quark in the cosmic afternoon" is so wonderfully enticing it's as if the whole rest of the exquisite poem orbits 'round it.
