i loved the artist and model it was romantic and timeless, now this is very contemporary, who knows what forms of endearment future generations will take up after the tatoos become passe....might be scarey like people sewing body parts of each other on the other...oh bad sci fi concept...ick

maybe society will go back to sending snail mail love letters...
more trees maybe carved with lovers initials, or sky writing will gain popularity...I know it pollutes......or perhaps serenades..beneath a senoritas window to rap lolol...so many ways to declare affections lol

Love and the way we want to be seen, considered and loved... As I read this, I thought of the impermanence of things, of how we are all afraid of forgetting and being forgotten. Tats is not just about the surface, it is also about the way we are and feel, bold and fearful at the same time. Thank you for the original reminder, Kate.

I know I am unpopular in my view of Tats...as I believe art should be hanging on a wall. Nothing shuts me down quicker than a tat and I do not like piercings on anyone either. I suppose I have never gone in for the fads of the world but I shall go out the way I came in...tatless. But I will worship scars on a woman for injuries or from giving birth way easier for they were not necessarily chosen.

I AM TOO OLD. HONESTLY, WHEN I WAS A YOUNG WOMAN(I AM 66) BODY PIERCING AND TATTOOS WERE NOT A FAD, AT LEAST NOT THE WAY IT IS TODAY...ONLY SAILORS HAD THEM. STILL, I DON'T JUDGE 'CAUSE THERE'S PROBABLY A LOT OF THINGS I DID THAT THE YOUNGSTERS OF TODAY DON'T DO. WHOA! HOLD ON...I TAKE THAT BACK!(SMILE) THIS IS A REALLY GOOD, ENJOYABLE WORK AND BY THE WAY...I HAVE A SON IN LAW, GRANDCHILDREN AND CHILDREN WHO HAVE TATS. THANKS FOR SHARING. Provocative ending on this piece, Kate. I have four and still no regrets. That first verse made me also think of how people will hide parts of themselves they don't think others will treasure. It took me a second to realize the true imagery. Well done:)

Awesome. When I worked in the OR ran into a lot of strange tats. It was always sad to see a name of their true love near genitals and that person had already left their lives. This is a good take on tats. Lovely. Liz

Well Kate is back with a fury! I often wanted to get a tatoo, but just never did. I think they could be very sexy if they are done in the right place. I would put mine, well never mind, I will leave it to your imagination! lol
I love your last stanza, it's a true stand out to me. We both have written about beating hearts today..on the same wavelength I guess.
