WIRE

No tightrope of words

can bare the weight of such

tender unspokenness

between A and B, B and A and Z:

BABY, don’t give up on me!

Summer martins gather on wires

in wait of their depart;

it’s too early to start, don’t go:

there’s so much you need to know!

Let me tell you, so…

Like notes emptying from a diminuendo stave,

they rise, turn, a swirling wave.

Like gravity to their upward flight, silence

feeds love’s soaring fear of heights.

Ah martins. Very particular about their dwellings. Openings and dimensions must be just so. Patrick

Love is a fickle companion at best. There are some who leave when the green grass fades, so they can look for greener pastures elsewhere. Love is a lot like the birds sitting on the wire waiting for that last call of nature before they leave; because when the birds leave, so does love. But there are many more fish in the sea, just waiting for the chance to take you to the prom. When we find the right partner, the prom lasts andlasts and lasts, forever. Thank you for sharing this thought provoking poem.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and tose whom you love, and who love you, ad be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

So true, love so often fears the soaring height. Short, but oh so effective!

The first three stanzas create the tension that is needed for this wire message/poem. Then comes the music and it's like a little song in the author's (or the reader's) head. Lovely concision. :)

just watched a video of a man tight-roping between two hot air balloons ... lots his balance and stumbled off the rope holding on with one hand ... he managed to get his perspective, regroup and pull himself up to continue on his pursuit, without uttering a word ... sometimes, in one's silence, there is much being said even while dangling in the appranet space of undeclared words, postponing any sort of declaration until the sojourn between obstacles (or goals) is completed ...

excellent metaphor, symbolism and imagery, madame Kate

Isn't it amazing how a fine wire can hold so much, you captured and released an amazing poem....I agree, far too soon for those birds to fly!
Blessings and Love,
Christine

My Dear Kate,
This beautiful capture reminds me of that very instant I received
a powerful blow to the left temple (a nautical Turkish knot gone
astray!) and the world before my eyes took on a silent, "soaring fear
of heights." The complex simplicity of love...
Like a masterful conductor, you have seamlessly orchestrated many a instrument herein. Brava!
Peace & Blessings, Poetess,
Carolyn

Great last line. This has the flow and lift of love's wings helping it take off and climb to new heights, even if tenuous at first. I love the lightness of heart in this one, Kate-it suits you :) xxxxx Love, Michelle

Desire to soar hampered by fear of ultimate success. It's the leap that most cherish rather than the soar. While the prospect of the final destination garners the most allure. Yet many are swept away, fire, ready, aim converts to success before trial and preparation. Your tightrope is the mental strain gauge. Kate, great piece of poetry and so wonderful to peruse your thoughts once again my dear friend. I bid you love and peace. Jon Michael

Does that wire always snap? Mostly, yes,
our inability, lack of commitment...what are we?
cowardly things, afraid of the ultimate everest?

It's been a while, Kate, and i hope you're fully
recovered.
