Decades come and decades go
Our lives slowly ebb and flow
Memories fade and dim, recall
Is often slow, or not at all
But sometimes, as if by magic spell
A few remembrances linger, dwell
In the inner recesses of the mind
Intact, untouched unchanged, we find
They bring us joy or sorrow, now
And then,we'll never know- why or how
Ever so gentle, calm- and sublime
They sometimes breach the dam of Time
And when that inner- most recess bursts
It floods our mind with joy or hurts.
I quite understand what your poem says. I'm of the belief that our brain is a 100% storage magical place, storing everything you have heard, or seen. And it comes back to us often, or not at all, but it is all there.
