Medicine was a profession to heal
To soothe, make people better feel
All those who were sick, unwell
Try to cure, if not-to quell-
Human ailments of every kind
To be of service to mankind
The reward was-heart-felt thanks
And high regards in social ranks
A small fee and some gratitude
Bi-directional pleasant attitude
Most doctors did their patients know
Their joys and sorrows, physical woe
Now- on technology we place reliance
And medical 'art' became a 'science'
To help, to heal and often cure
Demand exceeding evermore
Thereafter more technology grew
Creating unseen problems new
Things intervened 'tween doc and sick
Insurance, third-parties, their nit-pick
Soon medicine morphed into a trade
As it more advances made
The 'doc' a cog in a vast machine
Non-essential, and replaceable seen
Talk, touch rare and tests the norm
Doc's queries replaced by a form
Formatted for computer's ease
That's how visits start and cease
A doc no more the healer- guider
Like 'N.P.s' P.A.s- another 'provider'
Patients who were on 'docs' reliant
At some places are called 'client'
One day a patient named 'Ted'
Went to a doc with aching head
Tests were ordered for cause to seek
To take aspirin- come back in a week
He came back with throbbing head
The beaming doc cheerfully said
' All your tests are normal Ted
Nothing's wrong its all in your head!

I found Ted's story a bit humorous and ironic. The numbers by the concern. Modern medicine is finding ailments much earlier and much clearer than ever. Without these tests, especially the non-invasive ones, much that happens to the body would go unnoticed until it became critical, like cancer used to be in many cases.
I'm not going to back to where the doctor would thump on your chest and take a look at your feet and then tell you, "Take an aspirin and then come back and see me in seven days."
Inspirational poetry, written from the heart and soul. Verses that are well-suited for reading on a rainy day and that are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
A people’s heart can be found in their poetic words. In history men and women have stood firmly upon their soapboxes and street corners, rallying the deepest beliefs of people to rise up and be heard. The poetrypages.com has offered that voice a new
Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
