After my mother-in-law passed away we cleaned the house to get ready for selling and found more than $18,000.00 in cash underneath the bed. This is what she had saved. My mother-in-law did not even have a good pension, but she was able to save that money with her meagre pension, aside from paying for the mortgage of the house. I don't know how she did it, but it reminded me one time during a conversation before her death she did mention to my hubby and his sisters about this money she said not to let my father-in-law knows about it. We had no idea what she was talking about at the time, only thought she was saying things because she was so sick. We were surprised to know that there was really money underneath her bed. How she saved it with her meagre income I really don't know but it was a nice surprise to my hubby and his sisters. We split up that money and then split up the money from the sales of the house as well. Oh, of course... we've only sold the house after my father-in-law passed away as well.

My mother-in-law was an angel. She loved all her children! She liked it whenever we visited her she would cook up a big dinner for us all. I'm still missing her a lot to this day.
