Dreams of freedom

Poem Artwork

Oh,  to break the bonds of earth and to the firmament fly

To watch stars and galaxies and a nebula whirling by
This universe, but one of many flung by the hand of God
To step upon some planetary mass where no foot has trod

There the secrets of all creation, that none but God may know
Secrets the King of worlds does not give mortals below
Consequences of colliding masses breaking, now asunder
Echoes of the dead who live again in the universal thunder

The soul still bound to its earthly tethers can only dream
of that which passes in the ever throbbing celestial stream
Minds of mortal man must separate from the petri dish
in which swim the possibilities that now are but a dream

There may be a theory of other universes, but for now, the only visible one is almost too huge to contemplate. I won't argue God with you, but personifying the creator seems to be a strange way of putting it. And, there is a lot of evidence that life is very common in the universe and spontaneously takes hold whenever conditions are right.

With the steady rhythm and rhyme of this celestial poem, the reader takes a ride through the galaxies to listen to the music of the spheres. I love it. This is my kinda poem.

Giving Myself 'A' Reason For Going On by RickthePoetWarrior

A homonymless man writes shows what it's like to look up the laid he skirts when you’re lying prone(d) to the sidewalk, beer / joint / needle dangling from your hand /lips / arm.
