TEMPER THE WHISPERER


Those who are strong
Often test life's limits with their mettle,
Ending up drained of resources.
Live as nature intends, for in nature, is balance.
The strongly creative
Need balance more so.
An immortal spirit gives them inspiration
That can become excessive to their hungry mortal souls.
For writers, the spirit is a whisperer.
Both angel and demon,
It comes to speak divine things into ears.
We know this spirit comes from a high place,
Which makes it harder to turn away.
It speaks when we're in our cars,
Conversing with a loved one,
Even when working,
And its words are beautiful.
While the whisperer knows nature's balance,
We humans, in our struggle for balance,
Tend to balance too much.
