I wrote this when I was going through my cancer surgeries. It was extremely frightening when they were removing the tumor under my face but I have healed up wonderfully and you can just see a very small scar by my ear and on the left side of my nose. You'd never know they had to rebuild it. Thanks to everyone for their prayers~`*
Curling up in my solitude
I heal quietly gaining strength
Laying low inside and out
Soon to burst forth with power
Aching insides burn into my soul
As my soul rejuvenates it’s being
Body tired sleeps on satin clouds
Ready to reintroduce itself to life
Shhh tired, harmed heart sighs
Insert new thoughts and food
Blood flowing slowly, soon full force
Uncurling, walking strong once more

But do people think you have had a facelift? I found that because I was still intelligent and quick witted after my stroke some people would just not believe I had permanent brain damage. Weird...
This is a good poem with an important message for anybody going through a tough time.
As for you, I hope you are drinking your daily dose of red wine, its full of anti oxidants you know.

Theresa, your poetry shows you have enough of wisdom and fortitude to mend on the inside and fully recover. Thankfully, through the use of the many modern technical wonders we have at our disposal, should help allow your scars to heal too. I believe it is through His divine intervention that you remain and continue to flourish amongst the living. Do take the what ever time necessary and come back with the robust energy and wonderful inspiration we have all come to respect and value from visiting your remarkable Den. Glad you took the time to rest and recover. i can tell from your words that you are a very strong woman that has great strength in difficult situations like this. Congrats on winning a very difficult battle. Wonderful to have you back here again.

Good going, Teri. And I am glad you pulled through with minimum apparent damage. A police dog (retired) bit off my daughter's nose years ago, and we took here and the nose to a surgeon - he was from Taiwan and had a lot of surgical experience. The scar was nearly invisible but we had the plastic surgery done later since she was a beauty queen. And you are too! Say, what's that link about Ravens Nest? Did you open another one?
