The One - a collaborative poem

This poem was written between myself and fellow Author's Den poet, Peter Paton. We each wrote four lines at a time and his lines starts out the poem

I have come to take your pain away ,
You've been praying for this day .
Yes I'm different , Yes I'm True ,
I'll be here forever , just with you .

I'll be with you in your waning hours
though you feel your dreams have all but soured.
To no others will I seek warmth from the cold
for you are the flame, the light I wish to hold

Feel my Heartbeat , feel my Soul ,
take from me everything you need .
I have nothing else to offer ,
Except my love herein for you .

Let it pull you from your inner darkness
let it restore life back into your empty heart
Let it ease joy back into your remaining bitterness
let it show you how two souls can be art.

Now is the time for our reward
We have been faithful to ourselves .
Our Love is burning , a new found path
Melting together , in an unbroken line .

But that line is two dimensional
and doesn't reveal vallies and mountains ahead
I'll trace your journey if you will trace mine
and we'll continue to venture through joy and dread.

Armed with our joint force , no danger will ensue ,
For we are together , how can anything divide .
Out trust and bond , can never be discerned ,
To outsider or foe , our union is sacrosanct .
