As I read it seemed to be that the horse you have so beautifully illustrated could be a metaphor for nature chained and tamed by man only to be a mistake when nature strikes back.
The layers of subtext are arresting in this simple, yet complex summation of not only the horse but also so much of all Nature. As you proffer, man-madeness mutated into madness is a spreading virus infecting the very psyche of humankind's purpose.
