Scores of people searching for their heedlessly assigned seats

The bodies pack together like a herd of hungry cattle

Heating the building with each and every new pulse

Thousands of people with vastly different lifestyles

Joined together to re-live one common sound

Anticipation builds as empty seats quickly disapate

The stage surreptitiously hides behind a curtain of fog

Suddenly the lights go dim and an eerie silence sets in

The crowd exuberantly jumps to their feet  

A single tantalizing guitar note echoes through the arena

As the audience roars in anticipation of what is to come

Four artists once at war now take the stage in peaceful harmony

The long-awaited end to an angry separation several years ago

While apart each member dealt with their own battles

Cancer or failed relationships or business partnerships gone bad

Together again in unity bringing joy and memories to the masses

Flawlessly performing those songs which brought them fame

With each song rise memories of a different place and time

I think of my younger days when I didn’t have a care in the world

My head spun round and round and round with the music

Memories of puppy love relationships, parties and laughter

Twenty years ago when I was at my peak in life

I realize, right now, I can be there again
