A poem about death. The title also functions as the first line.
Death is
Always the death of another
The terrible taking away
Of a loved one
Or a total stranger
A something or someone else
However close you may come
You are always
Unceasingly, insistently alive
Thriving or wasting away
Reaching toward what is
Death
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
