Lilac Memories
By: Fee
Purple lilacs fragrant fills the air
Birds sing love songs and life is truly here
Sun glitters off a window of stained glass
Sends a rainbow of colour for them to share
Two lovers sit beneath a tree of oak
Been hours since either of them spoke
Just silent whispers passed from eye to eye
Their sometimes forgotten love so easily awoke
Off somewhere a dog begins to bark
Children laughing, screaming in a park
Warm kisses seasoned by lilac’s scented air
And another song is sung by the Meadowlark
The lover’s have been here many a time
Romance wrapped up in a Church bell’s chime
It was here that he first said those words
And asked her “Honey, will you always be mine?”
He plucks a sprig of Lilac for her hair
And all the age lines and wrinkles disappear
Like magic they both wander back in time
Thankful for all the memories they had to share…
Love Tinka

With the birds heading North and Easter just around the corner, I will read this again with my blossoms on my desk.
So thankful you've brought your words back to us.
You were missed.

Your imagery is superb. Those lilacs are a sure cure for what ails the heart. You may have discovered the flower of youth. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.
Long before you reached where the church was, yes!!! the scent of them would welcome you from far away.
Thanks for bringing me back there, climbing that wall gave me a sore knee.

You bring back many happy memories of my Ohio home: we had a huge lilac bush in our backyard. I love the smell of lilacs to this day. Very beautifully penned and illustrated, and most importantly of all, welcome back! You've been missed!

Welcome home, you've been missed.
Beautifully imaged, this one lingers, like the lilac scent I used for my bath! :) Not hard to imagine, reading this - well done.
